strong initial framing ALLOWS you to cede control
i think the demos gave me a good idea of how to be genuine and give honest context while also using a frame at the beginning. I find that there’s a way to thread between revealing the blatant instrumentalism of the framing process (something that I shy away from, but probably should not) and the benefits of being humane, genuine and revealing the speaker’s vulnerabilities upfront.
beginning with a strong and upfront frame actually allows you to be vulnerable and ask open-ended questions, be seen as a listener, without losing control or be taken advantage of (as is sometimes the case).
